Hello everyone! I am so
excited to be teaching your children in grade two! MEI has been my school
home for many years now; I started teaching here when the new elementary
building opened back in 1997. My first assignment was in a grade five
classroom… after six years, Mr. Burkinshaw and I switched grades - I moved to
grade two and he moved to grade five. (We still have some books in our
classroom library that once belonged to Mr. Burkinshaw’s grade twos!) MEI
and grade two are wonderful places to be!
In addition to my life as a
teacher, I am also mom to two wonderful children. My son, Ethan, is in grade four with Miss Bohr and Mr. Wardle, and my daughter, Halle, is in grade two with Ms. Friesen. I am happy
to be working part time again this year (62%, to be exact!), so I can spend a
little more time with my children in these formative years. Being a
parent comes with many joys and challenges that I am sure you
have already experienced first-hand. My husband, Todd, and I, love our children dearly and feel incredibly blessed to be their parents, but we also know that this is the hardest job we’ve ever been
given.
