We started our study of geometric shapes and solids today. Our goal today was for the kids to find and name 2D shapes around them. We played a couple of games to identify all the shapes and their names (the hard ones were rhombus, trapezoid, quadrilateral, and pentagon). The last part of our lesson was a shape hunt around the classroom. When they were finished their charts, they got to make pictures using pattern blocks of different shapes. They loved their exploration time!
